22/02/2012Spring-Summer 2012 Collection
This year North Sails focuses on tradition with an innovative twist.
The 2012 Spring-Summer Collection, inspired by the sea and by the world of sailing, reinterprets the brand’s identity. Watch the Frontstage and the Fashion Show on Vimeo.
For men, North Sails goes all out for technical solutions, creating jackets, knitwear and swimwear in functional materials, bright colours and sportive, amusing graphics.
The Men’s collection follows three main themes: “Day Sailor”, inspired by the brand’s sailing origins and character; “Ivy League”, a sportive and youthful line that combines American College style with traditional values; and “Salted”, featuring tough, gritty outfits of military inspiration.
The North Sails woman chooses garments of nylon and natural materials, such as linen and cotton, in a collection whose forms and volumes are a tribute to femininity. The fabrics display light, brilliant tones with fun graphics: skulls, starfish and marine creatures, as well as elements of the American flag. The collection is complemented by must-have accessories, such as scarves, bags and beach-towels.
And for the little ones, the North Sails “Future” collection follows in the grown-ups’ footsteps.
Children will wear the same three themes of the Men’s collection, in an especially designed, younger reinterpretation, with striped graphics as the leit motiv. Accessories such as caps and back-packs complete this fresh, dynamic range of apparel.
Little girls will mirror the sportive, feminine character of the Women’s collection. Dominant colours are white, light blue, coral, ultramarine blue and marl grey, accented with sequins and Stars and Stripes-inspired decorations.
